I specialize in a simple, healthy gluten free lifestyle. Gluten and wheat (the main gluten containing grain we eat) cause chronic inflammation in our bodies, leading to all kinds of symptoms and health problems and eventually disease. I work with those who are new to gluten free to as well as the veteran to help you reach all of your health goals such as losing weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, I’ll help you navigate which foods work best for you and guide you in implementing strategies and changes to simplify your lifestyle and improve your overall health.
I believe in bio-individuality: the concept that each person has unique food and lifestyle needs. No two people are created alike. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. I will teach you how to listen to your body and support you in making positive changes that are based on your unique body and lifestyle.
I have experienced first hand the power of food to heal, and I will help you find which foods work for your body. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to crowd out unhealthy foods by making whole food choices that are enjoyable. As my client, you will learn how to shop for and prepare simple, affordable, healthy meals for you and your family in addition to how to make good choices while eating out, enjoying social situations, and traveling.
I believe everything is food – all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment along with all that we put in our mouths. It’s not just the food we eat, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives like healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness that truly provide us with the nourishment we need. I call these primary foods, and when these primary foods are healthy in your life, what you eat becomes secondary.
I will support you in nourishing your whole body, from eating the right foods to living a simple life. In our busy and rushed culture, we often think the more we do and have, the better we feel and the happier we are. I believe the opposite is true. When we take inventory of what we really need – what truly inspires and nourishes us – in our lives, we usually find that we are happier with less. Just like food tastes better in it’s natural form in simple recipes, and our lives are experienced with greater fulfillment, reflection, and peace when we just keep it simple.
I believe in a high level of self-care: from caring for your physical body to caring for your mental and emotional health. I will guide you in taking inventory of the time you spend in all areas of your life. I will encourage you to make choices and put healthy boundaries in place in order to manage your time efficiently and create time for yourself. When you are caring for yourself, you are treating your body like the holy vessel, the temple you are created to be. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 9:19-20. While caring for yourself, you are better able to use your gifts to live out your unique God-given purpose in life, resulting in a healthier, happier YOU!
